Scan Data

  • What is the Altria scan data program?

    • Altria provides incentives for retailers who provide access to their scan data to Altria.

    • If retailers participate in this program, they must meet some technology requirements so Altria can access data.

  • What are the different types of programs Altria offers? What do I need to do to participate in those offers?

    • See below for a breakdown of what rewards and technology requirements are entailed to participate in each kind of program.

  • How often will I receive payments for participating in these offers?

    • You will receive payments monthly.

      • To learn how to transfer those payments to your bank, click here.

  • What can prevent me from receiving payments?

    • A few different things!

    • If your store is not submitting files, Altria will not pay your store.

    • This can happen for a few reasons, but typically it is because your Sync is offline.

  • How does Scan Data reporting work?


Multi-Pack Discounts

  • What is the difference between discounts or multi-pack/multi-can discounts?

    • Regular discounts are off of (1) item.

    • Multi-Pack/Multi-Can discounts are off of (2) items.

    • These typically lead to bigger discounts for customers, but they must be set up properly.

      • Following the steps in the proper order is very important.

  • What happens if I do not properly set up the multi-pack offer?

    • It will not report correctly, therefore making it so your store(s) do not qualify for reimbursements from brands.

    • These offers require a different setup process, depending on whether you want to set them up via POS or through your back-office software.

  • Why do I have to set up offers in my back-office software and POS? 

    • You do not!

    • You just need to make sure the data is being transferred.

  • Should I set up offers with back-office software or with my POS?

    • It depends!

    • If you are currently setting up offers in your POS system, you will probably want to continue there. Same for retailers who use the back-office software.

  • What POS providers can Skupos work with?

    • Verifone, Gilbarco, Clover, and NCR

  • How can I set up Multi-Pack Offers?

    • It is different, depending on what back-office software system your team works with.

  • I’m setting up offers in my back-office software, when do I need to involve them?

    • If you haven’t set up an offer in your back-office software, reach out to your team to ask them how.

    • Skupos has help articles, depending on your POS provider linked above, but if it’s your first time you might need help from your back-office provider.

      • Why can Skupos not help with this? Because we do not have the same level of knowledge/access as your back-office provider.

    • Ask if you can mix and match PLUs while offering a discount or if you can only offer multi-pack deals.

      • Mix and Match will allow you to set a discount to a setlist of PLUs regardless of price.

      • Multi-pack will allow you to set a discount to PLUs at the same price.

  • Why do UPCS have to be 12 digits? 

    • Otherwise, discounts will not work.

Loyalty Network

  • What if I need to change the date that I entered into my Skupos dashboard?

    • You can edit the date directly on your dashboard and if you have questions on how to do this, contact the Skupos Support team via chat.

      • Discounts will be disabled until the new start date that was selected.

  • What does it mean if a file is missing loyalty promotion codes?

    • There are a few reasons why loyalty promotion codes may be missing from a file:

      • Check to ensure you are active in a current LFP and that the start date has occurred. Promotion codes will not be present in the file if the promotion has not started.

      • LFP discounts are only triggered by Skupos when a phone number or loyalty ID is entered into the pinpad at the time of purchase, and only on applicable UPCs.

        • Confirm with the user that they entered their phone number at the pinpad.

        • If a phone number or loyalty ID is not entered, no discount will be triggered and no loyalty promotion codes will be present.

      • If your offers are properly set up and you have entered a loyalty ID at the POS, and loyalty promotion codes are not present, please reach out to our Support team.

  • Can Skupos re-submit a file for us?

    • Sometimes, but we are limited to how many days back the data will be available based on your POS system.

      💡 Tip! Please ensure you are checking the dashboard regularly at go.skupos.com to confirm you are online and avoid missing any transactions.

P+

  • What is P+?

    • P+ includes different offers based on specific loyalty IDs based on purchase histories.

    • With P+ your store(s) will also qualify for:

      • Digital offers: This is the preferred way consumers like to receive offers

      • Combination: The offers can be used along with existing MP and Loyalty offers (leading to greater savings)

      • Personalized: The offers utilize the purchase history for each loyalty ID

  • How does my store qualify for P+?

    • Click here and see below for the requirements to join P+.

      • ✅ Note: P+ Offers are part of Tier 3 offers.

  • Why do I need to participate in Tier 3 Altria offers, to get access to P+?

    • This is a requirement set up by Altria, so unfortunately Skupos does not have insights as to why this is a requirement.

  • Where will I find P+ offers?

    • They will be listed in your Skupos dashboard

    • Just search the word, “Personalized”

Discount Network

  • What is the Retailer Discount Network?

    • This is a mobile website designed to provide customers with coupons for Altria products, in your stores.

  • Do I have to access Retail Discount Network on a mobile device?

    • Yes. A mobile device is required to access coupons.

  • What is the Step-by-Step Process for Retailers to Redeem Coupons at the Register?

    • Each retailer store will need to input the Altria coupon UPCs into your POS.

    • Contact your Altria representative for the coupon UPCs as Skupos is not given visibility into these.

    • Add the coupon UPCs to your POS.

      • For assistance adding UPCs to your system, contact your POS provider.

        • To redeem the coupon at the register, scan the coupon barcode on your customer’s mobile phone to automatically apply the discount.

  • What happens if a retailer does not open a coupon on Retail Discount Network every month?

    • If you do not open a coupon on the app every month, you will not be able to offer the increased Tier 2 tobacco Loyalty rates.

  • How can I make sure the app is working for my store?

    • Test it out in your store! Go to Retaildiscountnetwork.com and follow the steps to get signed up. Then make a purchase to see if it is working.

      • You will need to sign up for a Tobacco brand but once your account is created, sign-in is easy with a PIN.

  • If I am Tier 2 or Tier 3, why do I need to use the Retaildiscountnetwork.com app?

    • Per your contract terms and conditions with Altria, the only way to get Tier 2 pricing on products is to use the Retail Discount Network coupon app.

  • How do I get signed up to be on the app?

    • Talk with your Altria representative about becoming a Tier 2 store and how you can use the Retail Discount Network at your location.

  • Where do consumers access the Retail Discount Network?

    • By visiting retaildiscountnetwork.com on your mobile phone or by scanning the QR code below.

  • Do I have to share my location?

    • Yes.

    • Location sharing is required to be provided with a coupon.

      • This is because Retail Discount Network needs to know what location is nearest you to provide a coupon for that location.

  • How do I access digital coupons?

    • You can access the coupons by creating or signing into your Retail Discount Network account.

  • The brand I want is not shown, why?

    • The Retail Discount Network presently only supports (5) brands: Marlboro, Copenhagen, Skoal, L&M, and Black and Mild.

  • What if there are no coupons?

    • Altria is responsible for delivering the coupons to your device, so check with them if the problem persists.

    • However, there may be no valid offers in your area. Try a new location and/or brand to see if any offers appear.

    • Offers are subject to change and are based on location.

  • Which tier of retailer qualifies for offers through the discount network?

    • Tier 2 and Tier 3!

  • The Retail Discount Network website is not working; can you help?

    • Make sure that:

    • Your location services are turned on

    • Your valid birthday has been entered

    • You are in a store location

      • If you have checked these three issues and you are still having issues, contact Altria as Skupos does not have any ways to solve for this.

  • Can a consumer use this coupon anywhere?

    • No.

    • A consumer can only use the coupon at the store it says it is valid for.
