Step By Step Process, per Tier


Tier 1 Enrollment:

Getting Started with Altria

  1. Contact Altria

Sample email

Hello-

I’d like to participate in Tier 1 DTP offers, through Skupos. Can you please send me the forms you need me to complete and anything else you need?

Thanks!

2. Complete the (3) forms from Altria

  • Complete the form to participate in Altria Tobacco Operating Companies (ATOC) Retail Programs.

  • Complete the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) form.

  • Complete the Digital Trade Program (DTP) Agreement at Tier 1/2 Level.

3. Provide your Altria Account Number to your Skupos Sales Representative

  • Contact your Skupos Sales Rep directly or email [email protected] letting Skupos know that you are hoping to leverage Skupos to support scan data.

Hello-

My store <add your address here> has completed the (3) forms from Altria and I would like to participate in the scan data program. Here is my Altria account number < add your Altria account number>.

Submitting Test Files

4. Skupos will then take steps to get a test file approved for your account

  • Make sure you check your emails for any follow-up questions.

  • During this process, you will receive many emails from, [email protected] with updates on the process.

✅ Note: You will receive several emails throughout the enrollment process. All these emails are managed by Skupos to facilitate your enrollment.

  • If Skupos has questions throughout the process, they will email you from [email protected].

Awaiting Retailer Paperwork

  • Email Subject Line, “Subject: Account Name – Altria Account #

    • This lets the retailer know that Altria received your request to use Skupos as your Scan Data provider.

  • Email Subject Line, “Scan Data Questionnaire Received”

    • This notifies each retailer that Altria has received their request and is initiating the process to designate Skupos as the Scan Data provider for them.

Submitting a Test File

  • Email Subject Line, “FTP Username”

    • This email contains the SFTP information Skupos needs to submit a test file.

  • Email Subject Line, “FTP password”

    • This email contains the SFTP password Skupos needs to submit a test file.

  • Email Subject Line, “Altria Account Number-Store Name-New File Naming Convention”

    • This lets Skupos know how to label your files

  • Email Subject Line: “Scan Data File Received”

    • This means that Skupos was able to successfully send retailer data to the brand, with no errors in that file.

💡 Tip! Make sure your Sync software stays connected to help ensure the success of this file submission.


Approval/Discounts

5. Confirmation email from Altria

  • The subject line will be, "POS Scan Data - Now Processing".

  • At this point, you can begin offering Altria discounts you qualify for (offer eligibility determined by Altria).

6. Set up Discounts

    • Engage discounts will appear in your Skupos dashboard within three business days of receiving the "Now Processing" email

7. Begin offering discounts to customers!


Tier 2 Enrollment

Getting Started with Altria

  1. Confirm that you are enrolled in Skupos Engage

  • This is a requirement for Tier 2 and 3 offers.

    • Don’t have Engage? Reach out to our Sales team to get started.

2. Confirm that you have a point-of-sale system and a scanner capable of determining if a consumer is 21+ years of age

  • Altria Standards: Can you scan government IDs to validate Adult Tobacco Consumers are 21+ [ATC 21+])

3. Contact Altria

I'm interested in joining Tier 2 DTP offers via Skupos. I've checked our point-of-sale system/scanner, and we're all set to use these tools to verify if a user is 21+. Could you please inform me of the next steps so I can start setting up these offers?

5. Altria will let you know once you can participate in offers.

  • Altria will share which offer(s) you can participate in.

Tier 3 Enrollment

Getting Started with Altria

  • Don’t have Engage? Reach out to our Sales team to get started.

2. Contact Altria

I would like to participate in the Tier 3 DTP program. Can you send me the applicable forms and share any relevant deadlines I should be aware of? Thank you!

3. Complete the (2) forms sent to you, by your Altria Representative:

  • A new DTP Agreement with your Altria representative and select “Tier 3."

  • Complete the Option Election Form for Delivery of Digital ads with your Altria representative.

  • A few things to make sure you properly fill out the form:

    • Intended Use Box: Only select “Email” and “Digital App” .

4. Altria will contact you

  • Altria will email to confirm you are validated with Tier 3.

  • Not hearing from Altria? Reach out to your representative for an update.

5. Contact Altria

Confirm which offer(s) you can participate in.

Now that I am validated for Tier 3 DTP offers, can you confirm that you have elected stores in the Insights C3M portal? Can you also share which offer(s) I can participate in?

6. Set up additional P+ offers

  • Make sure to only set up offer(s) your store(s) have been elected to, by Altria.

  • How to set up offers:?

  • Then grant Skupos in the Consent Manager

  • Confirm with Altria that your stores have been elected into P+ offers

I wanted to confirm that my store has given Skupos access to P+ through the Altria Consent Manager. Please confirm when your steps have been completed and let me know which offer(s) have been elected to which store(s) so I can begin to participate in P+ offers.

What is the Digital Trade Program?

Who is iRI?

  • IRI, also known as Circana, is a data company Altria partners with to process their scan data files for the Digital Trade Program.

Why do we need to reach out to Altria with questions?

  • Because Altria owns this process.

  • If they do not complete certain steps on their end, you run the risk of lost reimbursement.

How do I qualify for each tier?

  • If you are unsure of which tier you qualify for, please contact your Altria representative.

When will I be able to participate in offers?

  • Once you (and your Altria Rep!) complete all the necessary steps you will be ready to participate in the next cycle.

Not sure which Altria offers your store can run?

  • Reach out to your Altria representative for clarification.

  • Keep in mind that if you have multiple stores, each store might qualify for different offers.

How can I encourage my customers to participate in these offers?

  • Hang signage

  • Train your clerks to ask every customer to enter their phone number at your point of sale.

    • Don’t have signage? Talk with your Altria representative as that is done independently of Skupos.

When will I be able to participate in offers?

  • Once you (and your Altria Rep!) complete all the necessary steps you will be ready to participate in the next cycle.
