Step-by-Step Process

Getting Started

  1. Contact your Altria representative

  • Let them know that you are switching providers for the Digital Trade Program. They may have you sign a new “Digital Trade Program Agreement” form.

2. Contact your Skupos sales representative

  • Provide your Altria Retail Control Number (RCN) or Master Account Number (MAN) during the Skupos sign-up process.

  • Once we receive this data, Skupos will let IRi (Altria’s data partner) know that we will be reporting your scan data

I am going to be using Skupos for my Altria scan data program moving forward. My Altria Retail Control Number (RCN) is <insert number> or Master Account Number (MAN) <insert number>.

3. Skupos will then take steps to get a test file approved for your account

  • Make sure you check your emails for any follow-up questions.

  • During this process, you will receive many emails from, [email protected] with updates on the process

✅ Note: You will receive several emails throughout the enrollment process. All these emails are managed by Skupos to facilitate your enrollment.

  • If Skupos has questions throughout the process, they will email you from [email protected].

    • IRi, Altria’s data partner, will send a “Confirmation of Third-Party Change” email indicating the switch has started.

    • IRi will send a “New File Naming Convention” email indicating your submission credentials have been mapped to Skupos.

  • IRi or Skupos might reach out with questions and will reach out with updates.


Submitting Test Files

4. Submit a Test File

  • You will receive a “Request for File” email and this will prompt Skupos to submit a test file on your behalf.

  • We will need to send a full week of data, so it is important to stay connected to your Skupos Sync software for us to submit a complete file.

  • Please ensure your Skupos Sync software is connected.

Approval/Discounts

5. Confirmation email from Altria

  • Once the test file is approved, you will receive an email from Altria/iRI with the subject "Third-Party Change Complete".

  • At this point, you can begin offering Altria discounts you qualify for (eligibility determined by Altria).

6. Set up Discounts

    • Engage discounts will appear in your Skupos dashboard within three business days of receiving the " Third Party Change Complete" email

7. Begin offering discounts to customers!

8. You are now live with the Altria scan program!


Frequently Asked Questions

Is this process the same for RJR?

  • No.

How can I increase the number of consumers using these offers?

  • Place signage in high-traffic areas of your store.

  • Train your in-store clerks and remind them to ask customers to add their phone numbers to the POS.

What do I do, if I do not hear from IRI?

  • Check your spam filters and search, “@iri.com” in your email.

  • If needed, respond to your previous email with a request for an update.

How long does this process typically take?

  • Three weeks!

    • But if you don’t respond to an email this process can be slowed down.
