Successful Engage promotions = more money in your pocket! To make sure that you are getting the most out of your Skupos subscription, use this guide.

Sign up for Skupos Engage

  • Verify that you have signed up for Engage by going to the Engage tab in your dashboard or clicking here.


Enroll in promotional programs

  • Once you have purchased Skupos Engage, you will need to enroll in promotional programs. Learn how to enroll in promotions here.


Stock up on promoted products

  • Review the details of each promotion, including the UPC’s of all of the products included in the promotion. Make sure that these UPC’s are well stocked in your location and your POS is set up with the correct UPC’s.


Hang signage

  • Skupos sends a welcome package with signage. Place Skupos signage at the point of sale and any promotional signage near promoted products. Displaying signage is one of the most important things you can do - you want to make sure your customers are aware of the discount you are offering!


Run a test transaction

  • Grab two eligible UPC’s and scan them. Once the items are in the basket on the point of sale, check the PIN pad. Click “Engage,” enter in a phone number, and press “Ok.” If you are running other loyalty programs, you may need to enter an 11 digit phone number (X-XXX-XXX-XXXX) for a discount to trigger. On your point of sale, click “Tender” or the prompt for payment. The point of sale should show a message saying “Loyalty Authorization.” Once the authorization goes through, the point of sale will update the total to include the discount.


Verify that the discount was applied

  • Check the receipt for the proper discount amount on each item and a line at the bottom that says “Discounts Powered by Skupos.” If you see both of these things, then your test transaction was successful.


Train your cashiers on the Skupos Engage transaction process

  • Make sure they are informed of what items your store is offering promotions on and how to redeem promotions. Click this link for training resources


Log in to your Skupos dashboard regularly

  • Check your dashboard to see metrics related to how your Engage promotions are performing. If you see a store or promotion that isn’t performing as well as you’d like, make sure cashiers are aware of the discount, cashiers know how to run Engage transactions, and the items on discount are in stock.

  • If you need more information on how certain stores are performing, you can download a report which includes details on all of the programs you are running.


💡 Tip: 3 helpful tips for success!

  1. Run a test transaction with each of your cashiers. Double-check that they know where to see the discounts on the receipt.

  2. Print and hang the Skupos promotion calendar so that you and your employees know when promotions start and end. Download the calendar here.

  3. Place signage in high traffic areas as well as directly next to your pinpad. When customers are looking to receive discounts, cashiers can point to the step-by-step instructions.
