Adding discounts to your POS

  • If you use Pricebook software

    • You’ll need to set up the eligible UPC as “Discountable” through your price-book software.

    • Otherwise, this feature can be overridden when the software updates.

      • This means your discounts will stop working during promotional periods if that’s when your software updates.

        • Whenever possible, Skupos recommends using price-book software for setting up offers, as it is generally more straightforward.

          • For any questions or assistance with setting up offers, please contact your price-book vendor for support.

  • If you don’t use Pricebook software

    • You can set eligible items directly in your POS system.

      • See below for the step-by-step process on how to set up offers.

Step-by-Step Processes

  1. Head to your Gilbarco home screen

  • Once there, press “More” on the right-hand side, then “Tools,” and then “Manager Workstation.”

  • At this point, you may be required to sign in with an Operator ID. If you cannot find your Operator ID or forgot your password, you will need to contact your POS support vendor.

2. Press “Pricing,” and then “Item”

  • You must be logged in to complete this.

3. Search for the eligible UPC by entering it manually or scanning

  • Once you’ve found the UPC, bring up the edit screen by double-tapping the item or pressing the “Change” button on the right-hand side.

  • Verify that the item has the correct "Department" listed.

  • For all eligible items, this should be non-fuel.

4. Go to the “Options” tab

  • Verify that the item has the "Discountable" box checked.

5. Make sure that each eligible UPC is set up with the correct product code

  • For example, tobacco products should be under 0410, all other items should be 0400.

6. Hit “Save.”

  • Complete this step for all eligible UPCs.
